Acts 8: ³⁵ Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this portion of Scripture he announced to him the glad tidings (Gospel) of Jesus and about Him.

John 5:³⁹ You search and investigate and pore over the Scriptures diligently, because you suppose and trust that you have eternal life through them. And these [very Scriptures] testify about Me!

Gen 2: 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, You may freely eat of every tree of the garden;

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and blessing and calamity you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

Acts 5:³⁰ The God of our forefathers raised up Jesus, Whom you killed by hanging Him on a tree (cross).

Isaiah 53: ² For [the Servant of God] grew up before Him like a tender plant, and like a root out of dry ground; He has no form or comeliness [royal, kingly pomp], that we should look at Him, and no beauty that we should desire Him.

³ He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness; and like One from Whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him.

Psalm 34:⁸ O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good! Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man who trusts and takes refuge in Him.

Matt 4:⁴ But He replied, It has been written, Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone, but by every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.

2 Cor 4:⁴ For the god of this world has blinded the unbelievers’ minds [that they should not discern the truth], preventing them from seeing the illuminating light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ (the Messiah), Who is the Image and Likeness of God

Gen 3: ²³ Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the Garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. ²⁴ So [God] drove out the man; and He placed at the east of the Garden of Eden the cherubim and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep and guard the way to the tree of life.

Luke 23: ³⁹ One of the criminals who was suspended kept up a railing at Him, saying, Are You not the Christ (the Messiah)? Rescue Yourself and us [from death]!

⁴⁰ But the other one reproved him, saying, Do you not even fear God, seeing you yourself are under the same sentence of condemnation and suffering the same penalty?

⁴¹ And we indeed suffer it justly, receiving the due reward of our actions; but this Man has done nothing out of the way [nothing strange or eccentric or perverse or unreasonable].

⁴² Then he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when You come in Your kingly glory!

⁴³ And He answered him, Truly I tell you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.

Rev 2:⁷ He who is able to hear, let him listen to and give heed to what the Spirit says to the assemblies (churches). To him who overcomes (is victorious), I will grant to eat [of the fruit] of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

Prov 3: ¹³ Happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) is the man who finds skilful and godly Wisdom, and the man who gets understanding [drawing it forth from God’s Word and life’s experiences], ¹⁴ For the gaining of it is better than the gaining of silver, and the profit of it better than fine gold. ¹⁵ Skilful and godly Wisdom is more precious than rubies; and nothing you can wish for is to be compared to her. ¹⁶ Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand are riches and honour. ¹⁷ Her ways are highways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. ¹⁸ She is a tree of life to those who lay hold on her; and happy (blessed, fortunate, to be envied) is everyone who holds her fast.

1 Cor 1:¹⁸ For the story and message of the cross is sheer absurdity and folly to those who are perishing and on their way to perdition, but to us who are being saved it is the [manifestation of] the power of God.
