Missions
We have a strong working relationship with the Peace of Christ Church in Phnom Penh. Pastor Neath is responsible for many churches throughout the Provinces of Cambodia.
It is wonderful to see how the Gospel of Jesus Christ is impacting the Khmer people. They have been through so much due to the atrocities of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge, but are now finding true hope through Christ.
Pastor John and Susan Donnelly have been out to Cambodia twice in the last couple of years and are hoping to head back around the end of 2006, the beginning of 2007.
Glen Aros supports the Peace of Christ Church twice a year and it is awesome what God does with the finance which is sent.
Here we support the Caring Heart Orphange in Kampala run by Pastor Paul Musisi. A wonderful man with a tremendous heart for the children of Uganda. Sandy and Ethel Fergusson visited the country in 2004 to see first hand the way of the people. Monthly, Glen Aros contributes financially to the work of the Lord in Uganda.
A trip is being planned for October 2008 where we will be assessing the needs of the ministry as we continue to seek God to se His Kingdom come.
For many years we have supported Andrew Wommack Ministries and what a joy this has been. Andrew and his wife Jamie have been faithful in bringing the good news of Jesus to the UK and Europe for many years. He has a powerful message which will challenge and convict but will ultimately bring change, Amen! Visit Andrew's website and learn more of the Grace and Faith message, much needed in the body today.
Charis Bible College, Colorado Springs. U.S.A
For the last 3 years we have hosted students from CBC Colorado Springs. This has proved to be a time of blessing both for Glen Aros and the students as they get involved with church life and street evangelism.
The next planned trip is on 2nd-4th March 2012.
India.
We have been in contact with Pastor Seelam Easuratnam now for around five years. Pastor Easuratnum heads up AGWA Ministries in the region of Andhra Pradesh, India. We had the privilege of visiting the saints in India in October 2011 where we were able to see first hand what the Lord is doing.
They have just recently purchased ground on which they are now constructing a church building, orphanage and school. It is hoped that Glen Aros will send a team out in 2013.
Hungary.
We are blessed to be associated with the saints in Gyor, Hungary. Exciting times lie ahead for the people as they begin to start out on a new church venture!
We are also at this moment building relationships with the church in the Ukraine So as you can see we may just be from a small corner in Scotland but together we can reach the world with the Good News of Jesus!
Dumfries Christian Council and Evangelical Alliance
Locally, Glen Aros is also a part of the Dumfries Christian Council which is made up of believers from all different denominations in the town who organise events locally to bring God's people together.
Nationally we are part of the Evangelical Alliance which contributes greatly to the church in Scotland and further afield.
Alive Radio Alive Radio has been reaching out to Dumfries and the surrounding area initially on a 28 day licence since 2004.
They invited interested people to get together and after a lot of hard work and occasional tears, Alive was launched. The first broadcast period used a 28 day Restricted Service Licence during July and August 04, on 87.7FM and online through aliveradio.net. Over 50 people were invloved in the project, mainly as presenters. In 2005 we ran the project again with even greater levels of success, and encouraged by this we decided to run once again in 2006.
On 11th May 2007, Alive Radio were approved for a Community Radio Licence by Ofcom, and began broadcasting on 107.3fm on 1st September 2009
It is an awesome time with people from different churches in and around Dumfries working together to proclaim Jesus as Lord over the air-waves.
