CBC NEDERLANDS OCTOBER 2011 PRAISE REPORT
· HOSPITALITY OF HOSTS.
Week One -Klaas & Marieke Kramer
During week one I stayed with Klaas & Marieke who also had Maren
staying with them, travelling with them to and from college with also
Gerie and Mieke.
I was overwhelmed by the joy of being able to attend Gerie’s water
baptism on the Sunday after I arrived. Last year I had the joy of
witnessing the transformation of Marieke after she was healed of a sleep
disorder. This year I returned and witnessed another transformation of a
member of the same family, Gerie, and I thanked God with a heart full of
joy and tears running down my face as I saw a young woman visibly
blossom because of the life of God bursting forth in her life as she not
only sang but declared to the Lord with her whole being, ‘I am yours’.
Throughout my week with Klaas, Marieke and Maren (whom I know since 2008 because my
husband’s mission trip was to her church in Hamburg) we had wonderful times of sharing,
worship and fellowship – FUN! as Marieke so simply put it. We prayed together and knew
God’s presence amongst us. We enjoyed using Kris Vallotton’s handbook on Prophecy to
learn about prophecy together and we continued to do learn even after I moved to Gre’s. I
was totally blessed by being a guest in their home and I know they appreciated having me
as their guest. Fresh bread for breakfast and Klaas chips are also fond memories!
Week Two – Gre Albrink
On Friday 6th October I was taken to Gre Albrink’s home to stay there for the remainder of
my time in Holland. My bedroom was a gift from the Lord in every way including the rocking
chair and the picture of Jesus, on a decorative plate, holding a lamb.
Gre & I enjoyed seeing numerous windmills on Saturday including
The Four Winds, which God used to remind me of a prophetic word
given by Ronald, a friend in Dumfries, and the Golden Angel, which
we took a tour around before enjoying the refreshments in the nearby
tearoom. We then enjoyed a long walk along the beach before
enjoying pancakes in the restaurant.
On Sunday morning we went to Helga’s home and enjoyed a wonderful time of worship,
fellowship and took communion. Others present were a friend of Helga’s, Joy and Alet. Joy
then came with Gre & I to stay at Gre’s until she left for England on Saturday. We enjoyed a
trip to the north of Holland to the dunes and dykes before heading to Gre’s home.
During the week we would leave about 7am to arrive at CBC between 8.30am and 9am. We
spent some of that time in the car reading Kris Vallatton’s handbook on Prophecy. They
were wonderful journeys of fellowship.
Throughout my time with Gre I was blessed by her
hospitality and friendship. Marieke joined us Tuesday
evening and we had FUN! On Friday we went with Helga to
a restaurant by the coast, enjoying a walk and taking photos
of a red lighthouse before eating, and saw a beautiful sunset
as my time in Holland came to a close.
· PRACTICAL HELP OF CBC NEDERLANDS
I thank God for all the practical help made available to me during my time in CBC
Nederlands with regard to translation of notes for the students, interpreters to translate
teachings, provision of tea, coffee and lunch, photocopying and more which enabled me to
teach the 12 Keys. Jan and Hannie Lakeman did an incredible amount – thank you!
I recognise also how much easier it is to teach in an environment that is of faith so I also
thank all those, students and staff, who by faith in God gave the Word place in their hearts
and lives and allowed God to bring increasing revelation in my life and theirs as time went
on. It was for me a time of wonderful revelation as well as teaching.
· HOSPITALITY, KINDNESS AND GENEROSITY OF CBC STUDENTS
The Key
I was given a beautiful piece of jewellery by Mieke, a first
year student, during the first week of my visit. It is a key
with a crown on top and a lock in the shape of a heart. I
received it from both her heart and the heart of my Abba
Father and wore it with great joy the rest of my visit.
Mieke’s smile, hugs and ‘I love you, Barbara’ was a
constant encouragement to me throughout my visit.
The Embrace of God
I was embraced by Theodora, a second year student, on Wednesday of week 2, which is an
embrace I choose never forget. As she held me oh so tightly and for a long, long, time I
knew my Abba Father’s arms surrounding me at a difficult time in the natural and declaring
He would never let me go. She spoke words of encouragement and love straight from the
Father’s heart to mine. I knew Theodora meant gift of God and she truly was, to me at that
time, a gift from God in word and deed. I thank my God for her heart that responded to the
heart of our Father to answer the cry of my heart that morning and let me know Him so
tangibly present.
The Word
O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the covert of the cliff, let me see thy
countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.'
Song of Songs 2:14 -from Abba Father via Chris, a first year student. Wow!
The Banner
Marieke Kramer, a second year student and my host during the
first week, gave me a banner on my last day. It is a tree filled
with fruit of all different sizes with a bag of mustard seed
attached. The seed has been sown and fruit will come forth to
God’s glory. There will be more and more testimonies in the
days and years ahead.
It reminded me of the scripture we have in our home since our
time at CBC Walsall -I am the vine, you are the branches. The
one who abides in me while I abide in him produces much fruit,
for apart from me you can do nothing (John 15:5).
The Love of God
The overwhelming kindness and love of the first year students, who heard all my teaching,
was demonstrated in word and deed throughout my visit. They truly are a precious group of
people whose heart is not simply to know about God but to truly know Him and reveal His
heart to all around them in word and deed.
I recognised there was much brokenness in the group but also great faith as they looked to
God in humility for total restoration and victory. They naturally encouraged and strengthen
one another in love and shared testimonies. They were great fun too and helped me and
their fellow students to smile, to stand strong. There was great depth and genuineness.
They allowed me to be me and yet called me higher. There was no sense of ‘pull yourself
together’ when my eyes filled up or tears flowed but an appreciation of my willingness to be
real before them in my love for God and those around me. God did seriously overwhelm me
with His love in their presence and it was not tears of sadness that filled my eyes but a
response, which could not be expressed in words, to such love.
They blessed me on my last day with an incredible amount of chocolate which I am still
working through, a beautiful scarf, a financial gift, waffles and vla. They also gave me a book
of messages which is and always will be precious to me. The testimonies in this book are a
wonderful testimony to the goodness of our Abba Father. The handwriting of one student is
virtually identical to the handwriting of my precious granddad, James Hunt, who went to be
with the Lord 11 years ago at the age of 97. I had shared with the students how God can
use the physical to speak to us e.g. the mountains speak of God’s strength, the rainbow
speaks of God’s promises. I was hit when I saw this particular handwriting (there is no other
way to describe it) with an overwhelming sense of walking in the dreams of my granddad
and of God rubber stamping, so to speak, my time in Holland. Such overwhelming
endorsement and love! I do not seek it but my Abba Father simply delights in encouraging
and loving on His children. I thank God for the privilege and joy of sowing His Word in the
lives of His precious children.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE!
PRAISE GOD!!!
